Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
This disorder is very common and is a direct result of repetitive motions such as typing or mouse work.
What is it?
The carpal tunnel is located in the wrist and is made up of bones, ligaments, and tendons which create a canal that encircles the median nerve. If this nerve becomes compressed or irritated, it can cause symptoms such as pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness. This disorder is very common and is a direct result of repetitive motions such as typing or mouse work. It can also be caused by a trauma resulting in damage to these delicate structures.
How Can Chiropractic Help?
Many of the traditional treatments of CTS are focused around only treating the symptoms which result in reoccurrence. These include steroid injections and surgery. We have experienced positive results with conservative treatments and can often help patients from having to have injections and surgery in many cases. We utilize chiropractic, function exercises to correct imbalances, and Class IV laser therapy to promote healing far beyond the bodies own capabilities.
